Beyonce uses her work to fight for black rights -this can be shown in the formation music video as there is cut of a boy, over the shoulder shot dancing  and the shallow focus used to help emphasis, in front of police as a spray can says "stops shooting us" with a pan shot  and as the boy raises his hands so do the row of police, this suggests that she wants to get rid of the weapons and have peace with both gender, on top of this she shows a good perspective on the black society and cultural beliefs which is positive.

Beyonce is a feminist icon - by the way she dances and uses independence as a way of confidence through the camera as this is shown to her viewers who are looking to follow her footsteps, additionally in the video formation the video is used to create awareness of hurricane Katrina as there is a cut of her on top of a police car as the police car is being carried by water as there are also shots f what the hurricane had done to locals homes, this is done to create awareness for the cause and a she is doing it, it can be seen as a positive way which leads to the reason in which i believe she used her stars positively and creates her as a icon figure to the youth
